My Theatre Artist Philosophy

“No matter how much experience you have, you do good art by making lots of mistakes and learning from them. That’s the way it happens early in your career, and it changes very little even after several decades.” – Randy Thom

Theatre has the potential to be a highly collaborative and fulfilling experience for people of all backgrounds. It provides a platform for individuals to come together, share their stories, and engage in meaningful discussions, which can foster a sense of community and belonging. In an era of increasing isolation, the role of theatre artists in facilitating shared communal experiences becomes even more crucial. To achieve this, however, it is essential to prioritize accessibility and inclusivity. We, as theatre artists, have a responsibility to shape and build a welcoming and diverse community through our productions, performances, and programs.
